Josephus (c. AD 37 – AD 100) - also
known as Flavius Josephus - was a Jewish military leader, historian and
apologist. Josephus was a personal friend of Herod Agrippa and may have been an
eye witness to several of the events described in the Book of Acts. His works
contain references to the Sadducees, Pharisees, Essenes, the
Herodian
Temple
, Quirinius' census, Pontius Pilate, Herod the Great, Herod Agrippa I, John the
Baptist, James, and Jesus.
